“The future of work” roundtable, Dublin

What does the future hold for work and workers? How do new technologies reconfigure the relationship between employees and employers? Alessandro Gandini, PI of the CRAFTWORK research project, discusses with Kylie Jarrett (Maynooth University), James Steinhoff (University College Dublin) and Eugenia Siapera (University College Dublin), sharing initial empirical findings from the digital methods and qualitative phase of the research. Focusing on the paradoxical platform-isation of neo-craft work, the panel raises a set of interrogatives on the relationship between digital technology and labour autonomy, precarity and entrepreneurial cultures.
